Is your Supermarket Clean?

A recent segment of the television show Dateline rated the top 10 U.S. Supermarket chains based on their food safetey records. The records were taken from health inspection reports conducted in 2004 and based on visits to 100 stores in each of the top 10 chains. Here are the Dateline Ratings (from best to worst)

1. Food Lion

2. Save - a - Lot (tie)

2. Walmart (tie)

3. Costco (tie)

3. Sam’s Clubs (tie)

4. Winn - Dixie

5. Kroger

6. Publix (tie)

6. Albertsons (tie)

7. Safeway
