Happy Happy National Pancake Day!
Believe it or not, Tuesday, September 26, is a day we celebrate the round fluffly, carb friendly flapjacks! I used to love them when I was younger! But as I grew up, and wanted to begin slimming down my hips, I realized that a lot of processed flour, sugar and fat goes into creating these tasty pancakes.
So! In commemoration (did I spell that right?) of National Pancake Day, I am featuring my personal “Black and White” Protein Pancake!
Ingredients:
6 egg whites
1 cup oatmeal (1/2 of it was grinded)
chocolate and marshmallow flavored syrup
wheatgerm
cinnamon
grapefruit
Cooking Directions:
Mix egg whites, oatmeal, cinnamon and wheat germ in a bowl. Using non-stick spray, place a wide dropping of the mixture onto the flat pan and lightly brown each side. You can add sugar free syrup or the chocolate and marshmallow flavored, sugar free syrup that I used. To make it extra, extra, special, you can cut one of the pancakes into a heart so that it gives some personal love to the meal.
I added some grapefruit to compliment the meal - you can add whatever you like!
Happy Protein Pancake Day!
