Do you eat SLOW?

Posted by Maria Kang on November 20, 2006

A big tip when trying to lose weight is to EAT SLOW.  Last night, I had sushi with a friend and I was SO FULL after 45 minutes because I ate, talked, drank tea and hardly consumed 200 calories before I was totally satiated.

In these latest studies, they found that:

•When eating quickly, the women consumed 646 calories in about nine minutes.

•When eating more slowly, they had an average of 579 calories in about 29 minutes.

So what does this mean? It means to savour your food, not just devour it. And if you are on a good nutritional plan, you probably want to enjoy the moment when you are eating!

Slow it down and let the food spark a ‘fullness’ to your brain.
