Thank you Oxygen Magazine for supporting this site!!!
As some of y’all have read….2 weeks ago, I found out after fooling around on my hosting account, that fitnesscure.com crashed.
During this interesting 2 week period (right before, during and after) I had a lot of thoughts about the ‘true mission’ behind that site and how I wanted to better communicate and serve all of y’all! In fact, the day I posted this new internal mission, the site crashed the very next day!! (btw – those files were not recovered, so you won’t find that post) After contemplation as to whether or not I wanted to devote additional time, effort and funds in ‘bringing it to life’ again, I ultimately decided that all efforts were worth it if I knew I could motivate 1 person to change their lives.
The first day the site ‘came back to life’ – and also 1 week after it had dissappeared, I created a new “Fitness Cure Mission Statement” with the intentions to make it a site where I represented and revered athletes, business people, normal people, charities, companies, competitors…everyone and anything who has ever began a ‘fitness wave’ that created ripples of powerful change through the oceanic minds they influence. I wanted to show gratitude here.
Yesterday, I was shocked to discover a small review on page 40 of this month’s Oxygen. (My favorite fitness magazine) What makes me most happiest about this recognition is that the ideas I promote and put out there are being welcomed…It is humbling to finally get recognized as a ‘mind’ and not just a ‘body.’ I am not just a ‘thing’…I am a person with beliefs, thoughts and ideas. For the first time in my life, I feel like I have control over the ’symbol’ I represent in this world. This experience has also renewed my belief that actions lead from passion creates a positive effect…and that before every win, right before…is a perceived failure.
Ross Perot was quoted saying: “Most people give up just when they’re about to achieve success. They quit on the one yard line. They give up at the last minute of the game, one foot from a winning touch down.”
There is a reason why I stayed in the game and created the mental attitude and passion to follow through on my original intention. Thank you for reading and THANK YOU OXYGEN MAGAZINE FOR SUPPORTING THIS SITE!

Look! That’s US!!

It is blurry but it says: “With the kooky tagline ‘A cure for the common couch potato,’ Fitness Cure.com is a fun and friendly blog. A former beauty and fitness competitor, 25 year old Maria Kang gives her two cents on health and fitness issues. She deftly straddles two worlds often wrtiting about both celebrity fitness and true fitness a.k.a. competition coverage. Which world will she ultimately focus on? We’ll just have to wait and see.” -Oxygen Magazine, issue 91, pg.40
