Every Day is a New Battle.

Posted by Maria Kang on February 28, 2007

When I lived in San Francisco, I had that phrase taped to my bathroom mirror so I could see it each morning when I awoke….some people think I’m crazy, other’s think I’m combative…some think I’m motivated. Well I am all of those things as I assume all of you are everything as well…

What does that statement REALLY mean to me? It means:

“Every Day Is A New Battle - It doesn’t matter how much you lifted yesterday, or if you did cardio everyday last week. It doesn’t even matter if you were Mr. Olympia, or just completed your best exercise set five minutes ago? What are you going to do right now to change your life, to progress you even further, to where you want to be in the future?

Every day we begin our day with specific short term goals, and every night we go to sleep having completed, or not completed that goal. But every day, is a new day, and the cycle continues. In life, we have to constantly remind ourselves that this cycle will not end until the day we die.

We have to constantly struggle to be better than we were yesterday, to test and overcome the limits of our body, mind and spirit is what creates a true champion of life” – 10 Things Fitness Teaches you about Life, Maria Kang

Each day opens new windows of opportunities…imagine RIGHT NOW the possibilities in your awakening to the strength you behold to make anything you focus and dream of manifest itself in your future.

You CAN do it. You CAN be it. You are the only one standing in your own way. Get out! And start ‘battling’ for your true self to come alive.

What is your ACTION PLAN??

Posted by Maria Kang on February 27, 2007

For some people, they like to write down their goals for the week. For driven people like myself, you need to write down ‘action’ words versus passive goals.

Each week it’s important to consciously think about what you’ve accomplished last week – and what you need to accomplish this week – in order to accomplish the big, fat goal you want to achieve in the next few months.

In an effort to start consolidating my efforts online, I’m going to start shifting my online fitness journals onto the fitnesscure.com site.

What are examples of active goals?

If you want to lose weight say:

- Eat 5 small meals today
- Plan tomorrow’s meal plan
- Go shopping for food every Sunday and Thursday
- Train 20 minutes minimum each day
- Say a positive prayer every morning

EVERY action word is dependent upon your personal goals and personal strengths/weaknesses.

You can either post online or in your personal journal. I suggest you start today!

Here are some great sites to track food and fit journals:

100 Smartest Diet Tips Ever.

Posted by Maria Kang on February 27, 2007

Check out this article explaining how to take control of your diet! It reminds me of my 101 Ways to Motivate Yourself.

Here are some of their tips on how to eat more veggies:

How Can I Eat More Veggies?
26. Have a V8 or tomato juice instead of a Diet Coke at 3 pm.

27. Doctor your veggies to make them delicious: Dribble maple syrup over carrots, and sprinkle chopped nuts on green beans.

28. Mix three different cans of beans and some diet Italian dressing. Eat this three-bean salad all week.

29. Don’t forget that vegetable soup counts as a vegetable.

30. Rediscover the sweet potato.

31. Use prebagged baby spinach everywhere: as “lettuce” in sandwiches, heated in soups, wilted in hot pasta, and added to salads.

32. Spend the extra few dollars to buy vegetables that are already washed and cut up.

33. Really hate veggies? Relax. If you love fruits, eat plenty of them; they are just as healthy (especially colorful ones such as oranges, mangoes, and melons).
