Maria’s Fitness Pet Peeve #3

Companies that make fun of fat people are all sell outs.

Being ‘fat’ is NOT funny. It’s not. Add diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and inability to move efficiently into the fat equation and see who laughs after that.

Sure – it’s important to be humorous about your current conditions, but at the same
time, it’s important to be respectful of the weight battle we are facing in our world today. Not only does fat men wrestling shirtless in a fountain degrading the people they represent, but it also continues the conventional beliefs that it’s okay to make fat a funny joke…

While this ad, obviously counteracts the usual, controversial, ‘catfight’ ads Miller usually markets – it has now targeted another weak group in our population. Personally, I’d like to see more ‘heavier’ Miller Lite girls in their ads and see how much beer they sell.

This ad by Miller Lite goes straight to my fitness sh*t list.
