Marcia Brady was BULIMIC.
Well…actually her real name is Maureen McCormick! I read this recent article in People magazine yesterday! She is one of the newest member’s of celebrity fit club on VH1.
In the article, Maureen talks about the stress post-brady bunch and the pressures to be thin in Hollywood. Unfortunately, it does SOUND like the same stories you hear all the time regarding those suffering from eating problems…but I tend to always find the underlying factors.
So what are they underlying factors?
- Eating disorders is more of a CONTROL issue vs. and image issue.
- Certain personality types REALLY INFLUENCE the prevalence of these diseases in certain people.
- There is a genetic influence
- Having and ADDICTIVE PERSONALITY, whether it being a perfectionist, a gambler, a workaholic…can all lead to extreme consumption habits.

I LOVED Marcia Brady when I was little!

On New stands NOW. If you know anyone suffering from an eating disorder, find help here.

I will ALWAYS be a recovering Bulimic. When I was undergoing this painful challenge, there weren’t many role models, information and sites I could look towards. By making the information more prevalent, I hope I am helping someone less fortunate than you. Thanks for the comment.
