Starving The Enemy.

Posted by Maria Kang on May 25, 2007

We all have a dark side to our progress, a side that prohibits us from moving forward and attaining even the shortest of goals. Popular Fitness model, Tony Cantanzaro recently gave a great interview with bb.com on what keeps him motivated.

“You have to find out what it is that is stopping you. Once you do that, work on killing that part of you. I like to call this “starving the enemy”. Little-by-little, don’t give energy to the negative thoughts that come into mind such as, I’m never going to have the body I want, I’m too fat, I have bad genetics or I just can’t do it. ” – Tony

For me, I think starving the enemy means making me ‘more hungry’ for that desire to be my physical best…it could be watching a competition, yearning to fit in my favorite size jeans or wanting to look hot for the person I’m dating.

THE ENEMY IS not negative thoughts alone…The Enemy is YOU. You are the only person getting in the way of you.

I HAVE TO REMIND MYSELF THIS TRUTH EVERY MORNING when I choose to live an active live versus a passive existence.

YOU ARE YOUR OWN ENEMY.

A body of a true warrior!
