Maria’s Pet Peeve #7: Cheap Workout Towels

Posted by Maria Kang on June 8, 2007

Fitness Pet Peeve: If you are going to decrease quality, then decrease the price.

This is a little mean because I looovee 24 hour fitness despite some of their hiccups. However, I forgot my towel today and decided to purchase one at my local gym. Just to let you know… I am the type of person that notices EVERY LITTLE THING that changes. (I can tell when an invisible molecule has been in the room) So today I noticed the difference in quality from the towels I am familiar with purchasing versus the towel I bought today. The new 24 hour fitness workout towels are harder, thinner, bigger but cheaper. All for the same price as their older ones! I’m familiar with different cottons and brands and have always detested thin, low cotton material towels because it hurts my skin and especially when I wipe sweat off my face.

2 things bother me after having purchased this cheap quality towel.

#1 The company should have reduced the price to match the quality. (which I am sure they bought for cheaper) and
#2 I hate material that is abrasive to the skin.

Cheap towels are no good.
