8 ways to get MOTIVATED for your “after work” workout.
I am a big fan of training in the morning. The hardest part of my day gets finished first! However, for all of y’all who have a tough time getting to the gym in the A.M., here are some tips to motivate you to get going! I have used ALL of these tips and can vouche for its success.
After-work WORKOUT TIPS
1. ALWAYS have a gym bag with shoes, socks, workout clothes and a lock in the back of your car.
2. Print out a schedule of group classes and highlight the ones that you are interested in attending after work.
3. DO NOT even THINK about driving home. THINK to yourself: “Commit 20 minutes, if you want to stop, then stop” (this never works. You most likely will keep going for your entire workout.
4. Envision how mad you will be at yourself for not completing your fitness goal of the day.
5. Tell yourself that you will NOT compromise your health/body because of you’re work.
6. Remind yourself that your only opportunity to capitalize on today is making sure you are progressive with your fitness goals TODAY.
7. Reward yourself with a nice hot bath or your favorite healthy meal for your post-workout. (mine is sushi.)
8. Meet a friend. A training partner is the easiest way to keep a commitment.
