Shaq’s New Fitness show, “Shaq’s BIG challenge” airs Jun 26~!

Posted by Maria Kang on June 19, 2007

Shaq has a bigger game to beat in his new show ALL about fitness for kids. In his show, Shaq’s Big Challenge, airing June 26th, next Tuesday on ABC, he is motivating kids to lose weight and get fit!

I am VERY excited about his efforts in the obesity of our nation. After all, our kids are our future, right?!!

Here are some Fitness Cure Tips for all families struggling to be FIT:

1. Don’t buy sugary cereal
2. Teach DISCIPLINE (this is probably the best thing you can do for your child)
3. Be a role model to your kids
4. Promote activity
5. Limit Computers, Televisions and Video Games
6. Find what your kids are good at actively (soccer, ballet, dance, jumprope) and make them do it!
7. Create an environment that makes them enjoy movement (i.e. when you go to the park you spend quaity time with them, then take them for sorbet ice cream later)
8. MAKE dinner. Take time to prepare it – your kids will appreciate the meal and have a higher reverence for it.
9. Get a dog so they have to walk it all the time.
10. Encourage them to hang around ‘active’ friends. (remember, your environment and the people who influence it are very important!!)

Shaq has a bigger bully to fight. His name is called FAT!

Absolutely fantastic! Being an educator, fitness instructor and personal trainer I high-five Shaq for addressing this country wide problem facing our youth. Finally, something for parents and children to watch and address together. I would love to be apart of this effort. I teach and work outside of DC, but am down to FLorida several times a month. Yours in health!
