Cheat to Lose Diet?
I just finished reading Joel Marion’s, The Cheat to Lose Diet Book.
What did I think???
I loved it.
Firstly, as an avid reader I immediately looked into the personal resume of Joel Marion since it is always important to seek qualifying traits in anything you choose to absorb.
Joel’s credentials include:
- winning the ever popular: Body For Life Challenge in 2001.
- attaining Bachelor of Science degrees (yes! that’s plural) in both Exercise Science and Health/Physical Education from The College of New Jersey
- writing for Muscle Media, Men’s Fitness, Testosterone Magazine and Bodybuilding.com
If that doesn’t INSPIRE you to read his works – check out these amazing photos:

He increased his lean muscle mass by 22.5 pounds in 12 weeks!
Read his 2001 Body For Life Success story here.
So now you see, it is evident he knows what he’s talking about. Quite often, when I read advice from columnists and authors, I’m always ‘put off’ when that person doesn’t know how it FEELS to be unhappy with one’s body. A personal pet peeve of mine is when an author holds a doctorate degree and can give all scientific reasoning why a ‘diet’ works when they’ve never experience the challenge of weight loss/gain themselves.
Joel personally underwent a physical change and still works with clients today. His program has been successful for him, his clients and all those who have read and will choose to read “The Cheat to Lose Diet.”
The premise of the book is quite simple. YOU DON’T HAVE TO STARVE YOURSELF to make physical progress. You CAN CHEAT but only IF you are strict on your diet for at least 21 days. His recommendations easily mirror “The Warriors Diet” and the “Body for Life” program.
Personally, I’ve seen the best changes in my body when I disciplined my eating for 6-14 days and ‘cheated’ the last day. It shocks my metabolism. It fulfills my cravings. Most importantly, it makes my body feel good.
Now, in the past, when I ‘cheated’ I REALLY CHEATED. I ate so much that my body went into a huge sweat from the Thermic Effect of Food (which Joel talks about in the book). He describes the ‘right’ kind of cheat day and even devoted an entire chapter titled “The Cheat Day.”
In addition to a tight program and a simple food philosophy, Joel Marion also includes training tips, recipes and TONS of footnotes. (which I am a fan of since it’s important to know that your writings are supported by many)
For all those interested in purchasing the book, go to Joel Marion’s site or EMAIL him
(I’m a big fan of contacting people directly)

You don’t have to starve yourself!!!
