Where does Sickness come from in the Bible?

What does Earth Day have to do with YOU!!?

Posted by Maria Kang on April 22nd, 2008

Earth Day is an annual day, in which we become more conscious of the things we do in our lives that effect our environment.

In many ways, Earth Day is symbiotic to our bodies, for showing reverence to our earth is similar to how we should show reverence to our bodies.

Understanding our influential role in causing change helps us to become more aware of the energy we input and the energy with output into this world.

For Earth Day, please try to evaluate the universal principles found in how we treat our environment and how we treat ourselves.

1. We must live in ‘harmony’ with the world around us.
Our body and our earth are both trying to live in a state of ‘homeostasis’ or balance internally to support continuous life. A balanced and moderate approach to daily living is key in order to maintain the equilibrium our bodies and our environment are trying to achieve.

2. We must manage what toxins we pollute inside our world and our bodies.
We pollute our world just like we pollute our bodies. Once toxins are prevalent it creates sickness, disease and death. We must respect what we input into our bodies, similar to how we should respect what we output into our atmosphere. Both cases causes interruption and tiny breakdowns in our natural systems.

3. We must understand the energy taking place to support our living existence.
Our world is full of energy (I say this statement sooo much) but it’s absolutely true. You HAVE to begin seeing the invisible energy that encompasses every living thing into life. There is energy in our plants, our food, our bodies and our cars. We need to effectively ‘bring down’ the bad energy and ‘bring out’ the good energy. Right now, our bodies are obese with fat cells and our world is hoarded with pollutants in our air and living spaces.

4. We must respect how each portion of the pie effects the larger whole.
One of the worst things in dealing with health or environmental issues is not understanding how one piece of the body/earth effects the other piece. While my leg is divided from my arm, if there is an injury in my ankle, my entire body will suffer the consequence. Similarly, if glaciers are melting in the northern hemisphere, those in the eastern and western hemisphere’s will eventually feel the effects of that warming. We must always understand that ripples effect are not a fable, it’s a fact.
