10 Tips to make 4th of July HEALTHY
I am going to a dinner party tonight and for my portion of the potluck, I made salad and angel food cake with lots of strawberries and blueberries! (too match our American flag!)
So if you guys are all indulging a little bit – that was my first tip:
1) Bring/Make a dish that is heart healthy for you to eat.
2) Focus on the fresh foods like salad and fruit (especially watermelon) first
3) Don’t go to any party hungry.
4) Keep hydrated as you may confuse thirst with hunger.
5) Continue writing down everything you eat so you are accountable
6) Eat small meals throughout today so you don’t overindulge at night.
7) Eat with a friends who’s healthy!
Tell the people you are with to watch your eating – some will tease you, other’s will keep you accountable.
9) Bring your own veggie/turkey burger to grill. (I’ve brought salmon burgers before!)
10) Enjoy the day and not just focus on food!!!
Have a great day everyone!!!

Eat well and have fun!!!
