Who wants 90 days for $99 at 24 Hour Fitness???

Posted by Maria Kang on July 7th, 2008

If you are interested in getting a really cheap short-term membership and want to ‘try out’ my favorite, convenient gym - then send me an email at: maria_m_kang@yahoo.com and tell me why you love Fitness Cure!

Typically, it costs $35-$40 to have a one month membership at a gym - PLUS start up fees. So THIS is a very good deal. For $99 you are set for 3 months!

Here are the reasons why I love 24 hour fitness (which is also the gym I work out at and used to work for)

- they are everywhere

- they’ve got great group exercise classes

- they are inexpensive

- they are open 24 hours a day making them VERY convenient

- they are growing each year

- they sponsor “The Biggest Loser”

- they also sponsor “The Olympics”

making them a Growth Oriented Company!! :-)

So write me and let me know why you LOVE this site. The person with the best comment wins the gift card!

    Maria,

I admire your enthusiasm for 24 Hour Fitness. It certainly appears to me that all you write about the chain is true, however, I’m deeply troubled by one thing: Why would the staff and management at the new 24 Hour Fitness in this market find it necessary to claim all independently owned fitness centers, such as mine, will soon be out of business due to their debut in this market?

I sincerely hope they will begin showing some class as you have done so on their behalf.

    Hi Donna,

It looks like you have an awesome fitness center - I certainly hope I will be brave enough one day to tackle my own facility as you have.

Regarding 24 Hour Fitness - I am unsure if you are speaking about staff/mgt (who have nothing to do with cpy buyouts) or the company itself. While 24 Hour has a lot of positives, the negative is obviously the ‘mom and pops’ feel that your gym most likely offers. Quality service can never be replicated in a place where there are too many people and nobody knows your name.

I’ve worked with an independent company 3 blocks away from a popular 24 hour fitness in SF, and we sold well with the quality of our staff, our facility and our people. Our prices were higher - but that’s what people paid to be outside of the crowds.

We can never control what others do, but we can control they way we perceive and react to that issue. Good luck in all you do and God Bless.
