Mommy Fitness Blog: SICK and NOT working out.
I haven’t worked out in about a week. This was the first time in a little over a month I COULDN’T run my weekly ten miles. Last week I was sooo busy. I was so busy I had the worst writer’s block and couldn’t complete a paid article for a magazine I write for. I was so busy I couldn’t even workout!
In fact, I was sooo busy I ended up getting really sick this entire weekend and am STILL sick as I type.
My whole head is congested and my lymph nodes are swollen. I am constantly sleepy and feel achy everywhere! As I type, I am in Los Angeles and am trying to recover in a bed I’m not comfortable in and a place that lacks the ‘home’ feeling I desire.
It truly does suck to be sick as the hotel we’re staying in has an AWESOME gym. I feel a little bad that I wasn’t able to work out in it…but yesterday all I wanted to do was sleep…and today it might be the same.
ALL I know is that I probably won’t be able to get a workout in until Wed or Thurs. I will STILL try to run ten miles – but we will see.
In addition to being sick, I definitely have not been eating or drinking enough. Yesterday I probably ate around 600 calories…mainly because I have no appetite.
However, before I got sick, I weighed myself before we left for L.A. (I’ve been here since Sat., today is Tues.) I had lost a couple pounds (FINALLY!) and am starting to get out of the plateau I was in for a month! I have noticed that whenever I hit a milestone in my weight, I sit at the plateau for a while until I move again.
All I know is that it’s better to lose weight slower than faster.
My goal this week is to:
1) Eat less carbs at night
2) Drink a lot of water
3) Run ten miles
4) Weight train 3 times/wk
5) Focus on abs 2 times/wk (I had to cut down this goal because I never could achieve training them every day)

The baby is 6.5 months now! My goal is to lose 10 last pounds.
